Collections: European Terra Cotta Tile FlooringBack
Of all the Collections that François and I create, the Montmartre Collection is the closest to my heart. The beauty of the chunky encaustic designs speak of history, survival, kingdoms and bliss. During these moments in time, life was perhaps crude but gloriously authentic - when the Middle Ages would soon embark onto a rebirth...a Renaissance...but not yet. The Montmartre Flooring Collection is a piece of art unto itself. Each decorative is hand done on a incredibly crafted hand made European terra cotta tile that has a soft patina to it's edges and surface. Tones of earth and tabacco embody the background of the field tile - while the decoratives are rich in colors like Straw, Ebony, Camel or Olive. Creativity and breaking from the Jone's is essential with this Collection. Just know that if you choose to live with this tile, you will be living with history from the past and 100 years from now. And as a reminder - mixing vintage with contemporary designs is always my preference. It makes both aesthetics shine.
