L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is in a delightful town on the Sorgue river in Southeastern France. Famous for its many antique shops - the Sunday open-air market originated in November 1596.  Rich in beauty and history, when we found this lot on the outskirts of the town, we were mesmerized.   From a manor home - it's one of the oldest and largest lots we have ever procured.  Early 18th century perhaps.  The colors are sublime - such a range of Provençal hues - from reds to blush to ochre and olive.  The patina is extraordinary - it received many a foot print to have such a smooth and worn texture.  Nearly consistent in thickness - to achieve that tight, elegant grout line would be easily accomplished.  With a lot this size - 1089 sf - one could install this reclaimed terra cotta hexagon throughout a significant space.  Plaster walls, reclaimed wood beams and this clay tile would be an authenticity that would make one believe that are living in Provence.

Recommended Sealer after Installation:  Akemi Stone Impregnation for French Reclaimed Terra Cotta Tile Flooring

Cleaning and Maintenance:  Vacuum, then clean with Black Soap (Savon Noir) to disinfect, maintain, protect and enhance patina.
